The Respiratory Therapy Program Director is responsible for all aspects of the respiratory therapy program. These duties include the management, administration, continuous review and analysis, planning, development, teaching and curriculum, accreditation, and general effectiveness of the program.
As Associate Professor of Respiratory Therapy the primary responsibility will be classroom instruction of students in principles and application of physical, biological, and psychological subjects related to respiratory care;
Required Qualifications
Graduate of program accredited by CoARC; credentialed as an RRT; Master's Degree from an accredited institution; Four years of respiratory education experience; Experience with CoARC accreditation;
Preferred Qualifications
Experience as a Respiratory Therapy Program Director; Doctoral level of education

Leads the efforts in program accreditation to initiate and maintain full accreditation through CoARC;
Job Duty
Provides overall management of the program by collaboration with faculty and staff to achieve and implement all University and Program policies and procedures;

leads programmatic evaluation and continuous review with a focus on competences and outcomes;
Job Duty
Works closely with the dean to monitor administrative aspects of the program such as budget, student matters, program goals, and program objectives;

Classroom instruction of students in principles and application of physical, biological, and psychological subjects related to respiratory care;
Job Duty
Lectures including on-line and in person delivery;

Conducts and supervises laboratory work;
Job Duty
Evaluation and issuance of assignments;

Directs seminars, panels and simulation activities;

Mentors students;
Job Duty
Supervises students and demonstrates patient care in the classroom, laboratory, and simulation center;

Prepares and administers examinations, evaluates student progress, and maintains records of student classroom and clinical experience;

Participates in planning curriculum, teaching schedule, and course outline;

Requires early morning, late evening, and/or weekend work;

Maintains office hours; attends faculty, school and department meetings; advises students; serves on committees; keeps accurate records; participates in faculty development; and performs other duties as required
