    About the role:

    We're seeking to recruit a high calibre academic to work in the School of Computing and Information Science (CIS) based at our Cambridge campus. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct teaching and research in general computing topics and have specific interests in Cyber Security and Computer Networks. The position will also require the preparation of funding bids for research funding, to generate external income, supervision of research students and the development and maintenance of collaborative links with industry.

    The areas of specialism to be covered include: cyber security, computer networks, information and data security, cloud computing, security management and governance, and IT infrastructure. Sound knowledge of both the underpinning theory and practical skills needed in the agreed areas is expected. This role will be based in Cambridge, please note that the post- holder will be required to travel to other sites and overseas as necessary.

    With a PhD in a relevant discipline, and experience of teaching in a higher education setting, you will have excellent written and oral communication and be able to think innovatively. With a strong background in computer science, you'll be creative and motivated with an enthusiastic approach. You'll have a record of academic achievements consistent with your current career level. You will be able to work co-operatively and as part of a team with a willingness to contribute to the collective life of the Faculty.
