Description

Associate Professor in Climate Change Practice

Are you an outstanding researcher engaged in the practice of climate change? The School of Politics and Intenational Studies (POLIS) is looking for someone who will galvanise our network of climate change scholars within POLIS and across the University of Leeds, building linkages across disciplines and leading forward the translation of our research into climate change policy and practice with public stakeholders. You will also play a leading role in developing and delivering our Climate Change curriculum, giving our students knowledge and experience of intervening in practical policy work.

We would be particularly interested to see applications from researchers who are developing transdisciplinary research relating to net-zero, the political economy of climate change, the politics of technology, and/or just transition.

The School covers excellent research and teaching across the sub-fields of politics, politics and computational analysis, international relations and global development and is looking increasingly to the complex relations between these fields under the strategic orientation of ‘the politics of global challenges'.

You will be expected to help lead/lead in your area of research and teaching, making important contributions to the School's strategic direction. You will help deliver both undergraduate and postgraduate modules and help recruit and supervise our expanding postgraduate research community.

As an international research-intensive university with a strong commitment to research-led education, we aim to create an inclusive environment that attracts, supports and retains the best students and staff from all backgrounds and from across the world. We select candidates on the basis of merit and ability and aspire to further diversify our School and Faculty community. We particularly welcome applications from candidates belonging to groups that have been under-represented in the University including, but not limited to: Black, Asian and ethnically diverse people, people who identify as LGBTQ+, and disabled people.
