About the position
This position presents an exciting opportunity to be part of a School that has an outstanding reputation for teaching and research excellence, for research translation and for building strong relationships with industry partners.
The successful candidate will lead curriculum development initiatives in Accounting and will develop and deliver high quality educational offerings at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level. Fostering excellence in teaching and learning and assuring the quality of the academic programs within the School are key requirements of this role. The successful candidate will also undertake impactful research, publish in ABDC A and A / Top 10% Q1 journals, generate external research income and facilitate links between the School and industry. The role is particularly focused on adding to the discipline capacity in relation to the sustainability / carbon accounting or forensic accounting areas and the successful candidate will be required to contribute to teaching and/or research and related activities in these areas. You will also be expected to work with the Professoriate and other colleagues in developing deeper engagement with industry and higher quality research outcomes, and be willing to take on key leadership roles including course coordinator, discipline lead and potentially Head of Department.
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have an excellent record in curriculum development and teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Accounting, with specific knowledge and experience in the sustainability accounting or forensic accounting areas, and will have a strong track record of publishing in high quality journals (specifically, ABDC A and A / Top 10% Q1 journals) and attracting external research funding. The successful candidate will possess excellent academic administration skills and the proven ability to mentor junior Faculty. Industry engagement experience and particularly interactions with leading accounting businesses and professional accrediting bodies will be highly regarded. The successful candidate will also be expected make a substantial contribution to discipline, Department or School leadership. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collegially are key requirements of this role.
