Would you like to lead a portfolio of trials designed to answer questions of real importance that will ultimately develop the clinical pathway to improved disease outcomes and patient care in cancer? Are you looking for an excellent opportunity to take on a challenging leadership position and develop your international profile within a supportive and stimulating environment? Would you like to work for one of only seven prestigious Cancer Research UK clinical trials units?
As part of our recently renewed CRUK infrastructure award, we have the exciting opportunity to expand our team of innovative and enthusiastic methodologists to include an additional two Associate Professors in Cancer Clinical Trials.
The Leeds Cancer Research UK Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) at the Leeds Institute of Clinical Trials Research is an international leader in the field of clinical trials. The Unit is one of the largest in the UK and is one of only 7 clinical trials units to receive a prestigious infrastructure award from Cancer Research UK. We conduct national and international early phase and late phase clinical trials specialising in blood cancers, treatment with radiotherapy, and colorectal cancer.
Our main aim is to develop and support novel and efficient trials to change clinical practice for the better. Our past results and current research have already helped to do this.
You will have an external facing role presenting at national and international conferences and represent CTRU on national committees. You will engage with national leaders to drive strategically aligned research priorities with multiple stakeholders including clinicians, patients, the NHS, industry and charities, and will represent Leeds in the CRUK CTU Network of multidisciplinary clinical trial researchers.
What we offer in return
And much more!
This role will be based on the university campus with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
