The Department of Language and Linguistic Science is seeking to appoint two Associate Lecturers. One will specialise in phonetics/phonology and the other in sociolinguistics. Both posts are fixed term for 12 months.

The position of Associate Lecturer in Phonetics and Phonology will contribute to teaching from 1 September 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position of Associate Lecturer in Sociolinguistics will contribute to teaching from January 2022.

    Role

You will play a full part in teaching, supervision and administration in the Department, with particular responsibility for teaching in phonetics/phonology (in the position of Associate Lecturer in Phonetics/Phonology) or sociolinguistics (in the position of Associate Lecturer in Sociolinguistics) on our programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

You will have specialist knowledge in phonetics and phonology. We would especially welcome someone with the ability to deliver training in phonetic observation and transcription. Experience of interacting with students and providing guidance on their projects is an advantage.
