MCASI is one of three schools in the Faculty of Humanities.

Your new role Our organisation is currently seeking an ALA/ALB Teaching & Research candidate to join our team in the field of International Relations, Security, and Strategic Studies. The area teaches three programs, two majors in International Relations, and in Security and Strategic Studies, and the Master of International Relations and National Security, as well as supervising a strong cohort of PhD students. This position requires undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research, engagement, and professional education in the areas of international relations, development and security. The specific balance between teaching and research activities is determined through the Performance and Career Planning (PCP) process, which allows for personalized development and career progression.

Position Criteria

  • PhD in strategic studies, international relations or related discipline.
  • A track record in designing and teaching undergraduate and postgraduate units.
  • Demonstrated capacity to support graduate and postgraduate supervision (Honours, Master, PhD).
  • Demonstrated capacity for designing and developing effective student- centred learning experiences.
  • A track record of high-quality research and publication in relevant discipline areas.
  • Commitment to academic service, collegiality and external engagement relevant to the discipline/profession/community.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a diverse professional environment.
  • Desirable

  • Ability to contribute to curriculum innovation and content design.
  • Ability to work effectively in a professional education environment.
  • A developing track record of grants successes
