We have an excellent opportunity for an Associate Lecturer/s for the following modules

  • Immigration Law I (Fundamentals of UK Law) - Level 6 & Level 7
  • Contemporary Issues in Islamic Law - Level 5 & 6
  • 15 hours of teaching on each module – Mondays 7.30 starting 9 January to 20 March 2023.
  • In order to be successful in the Immigration Law post, you will have:

  • Specialist knowledge in the area of UK immigration law
  • Teaching Immigration Law 1 will allow you to examine both legal practice and law in context. While a syllabus for the course is already prepared, you will have flexibility to change aspects of this syllabus.

    To be successful for the Associate Lecturer post in Contemporary Issues in Islamic Law:

  • Specialist knowledge of Islamic Law, Islamic Finance, Islamic Law and Human Rights.
  • For both posts you will also need the following:

  • a proven track record of demonstrating effective presentation skills and good oral and written communication skills
  • a good level of Information and Communication Technology skills particularly in application to standard packages (e.g.
  • word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail and internet use) and virtual learning environments
  • Formal teaching experience
  • the ability to appreciate and react to the needs of individual students and their circumstance

    Remuneration:

    Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on length of continuous service with the College (starting rate £63.55 per hour inclusive of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay) for contact hours worked. This hourly rate is based on the starting point of Grade 7 and is inclusive of a ‘Duties Related to Teaching Multiplier' which covers preparation, teaching, administration, assessment marking and other examining duties in connection with the course.
