Overview:
RMIT Vietnam, an entity of RMIT University, has campuses in Ho Chi Minh City

Your role
This role supports the Online Learning team to create engaging online and
blended learning experiences in the Learning Management System (Canvas) as
part of a new digital uplift project. The Associate Learning Designer will
work closely with the Learning Designers and Multimedia Designers to design
and build interactive learning activities and resources and create appealing
Canvas course sites, as well as support the creation of educational video.
Key accountabilities
Ensure that all content adheres to RMIT VN learning design, user
experience, accessibility, copyright and style guide standards.
Support learning designers to construct learning experiences that promote
interaction, social presence, and community among students, and between
students and faculty.
Work with academic content to create learning sequences that are engaging,
pedagogically rich, interactive and aligned.
Use a range of authoring and multimedia tools to build out learning
sequences in the Learning Management System.
Support the Learning Design and Multimedia team by sourcing or creating
multimedia assets and resources for Canvas courses and support resources.
Format pages in the learning management system according to a style guide
using basic HTML
Create interactive learning assets including interactive diagrams,
knowledge checks and other learning materials and activities in line with
course look and feel and as directed by the learning designer or
multimedia officer.
Source and create course banners according to a look and feel.
Set up course shells, assignments and other elements of Canvas courses.
Work with subject matter experts and learning designers to design, develop
and build high quality digital learning experiences under the direction of
the Manager, Online Learning.
Ensure digital content supports student achievement of the desired
learning objectives of the relevant courses.
Carry out other duties as required by the University.
Key selection criteria
A passion for education and lifelong learning
A bachelor degree in a field related to education, communication, design
or technology.
Experience working with a range of digital multimedia design tools such as
the Adobe suite, particularly Illustrator.
Demonstrated good level of English communication skills, both written and
spoken.
A love of technology and learning with an ability to pick up new
technologies quickly
A strong design aesthetic with the ability to work to a brief or style
guide
Ability to collaborate effectively with peers and give and receive
constructive feedback.
Ability to work independently and show initiative
Ability to anticipate deadlines, and plan tasks accordingly.
Basic/Intermediate knowledge of HTML and CSS is an advantage.
Work experience in an educational environment and/ or work experience in
webpage design/layout and content management would be an advantage.
Teaching experience would be an advatnage
Ability to display appropriate behaviours in line with the position, as

English Proficiency
The minimum requirement is IELTS with a score of at least 5.5 or 150 in
Linguaskills.
