The Indiana University School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics is seeking applications for the physicians in the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology, Allergy and Sleep Medicine. This is a full-time position at the Associate/Full Professor level on the tenure track.

Responsibilities include teach, train and mentor medical students, pediatric residents and pediatric fellows; Provide direct patient care of critically ill and/or injured children in the Pediatric Pulmonology units at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health and IU Health North Hospital; conduct investigator- initiated and collaborative research. Highly qualified applicants will be considered for additional leadership opportunities.

Pediatric Pulmonology, Allergy and Sleep Medicine faculty at IU School of Medicine provide clinical services in a variety of locations throughout Indiana, and the division consistently ranks in the top 15 on the annual U.S. News and World Report list of Best Children's Hospitals. The children who receive care from this pediatric specialty team come from cities and towns throughout Indiana and the United States.

Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health is recognized as one of the nation's top children's hospitals. The section of Pediatric Pulmonology is ranked 7th by U.S. News & World Report as part of the 2022-23 Best Children's Hospitals.

The Department of Pediatrics is based in the Riley Hospital for Children. It has 360 faculty members with a strong research program. Research is primarily conducted in the Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research and the Health Information and Translational Sciences Building, which are home to 58 Department of Pediatrics investigators (40 basic science investigators and 18 HSR/Human translational research/information science investigators). Pediatric faculty research programs have achieved national recognition and have an outstanding record for attaining peer-reviewed, external research funding totaling approximately $76 million in 2020, including funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the American Heart Association, and the Department of Defense. In 2020, The Department of Pediatrics at IUSM has over $32.4 million in NIH funding ranking 6th among medical schools in the nation and 3rd among public institutions.

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate or terminal degree required.

• MD or MD-PhD degrees; eligible for licensure in Indiana • Fellowship training of 3 or more years in Pediatric Pulmonology and certification by the American Board of Pediatrics Sub-Board of Pulmonology • A minimum of 5-7 years' experience in clinical, educational or research excellence in pediatric pulmonology • Academic credentials appropriate for an appointment with tenure • Progressive leadership experience in academic medicine
