The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an accomplished, dynamic leader to serve as Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases and Geographic Medicine. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.

This individual will report to the Chair of Internal Medicine and will lead a diverse, dedicated team of outstanding Infectious Diseases specialists, innovative researchers, and enthusiastic educators. The ideal candidate will be a committed leader with expertise in Infectious Diseases, both from the clinical and scientific perspectives. The candidate must also meet the following requirements:

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or foreign equivalent

Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Infectious Disease and eligible for an unrestricted license to practice medicine in Texas

Infectious Diseases Division, Facilities & Services:

An ACGME-accredited fellowship program

Highly dedicated faculty, a diverse mix of infectious diseases and outstanding basic and clinical research opportunities exist within the division. These include further growing programs in antimicrobial resistance, therapeutics, pathogenesis of tuberculosis, genomics and molecular epidemiology, health services research and transplant infectious diseases

With one of the largest HIV clinical programs in the country, numerous potential for clinical, translational and basic research programs in HIV are present

UT Southwestern Medical Center:

UT Southwestern is renowned for its Nobel prize-winning biomedical research programs and exceptional clinical services, NIH-funded CTSA; superb research programs in health services, basic and translational sciences, outstanding training programs in Internal Medicine and its subspecialties and a new School of Public Health opening in 2023

The faculty serve state of the art modern hospitals such as Clements University Hospital (~750 beds), Parkland Hospital, (~900 beds) and the Dallas VA (~290 beds)
