Job Description
Reporting to the Department of Medicine Director of Research Administration, the Associate Director in Training and Quality Assurance will serve as an expert in sponsored research grant management and policy for the Department of Medicine. The primary responsibility of the Associate Director in Training and Quality Assurance is to establish standards for measuring staff performance and provide trainings/professional development for new and existing research administrative staff. This role will assist the Director in the departments other Core areas (Clinical, Finance, Education) as it pertains to research.
There are four key areas of focus for this position.
Onboarding and Training for New and Existing Research Staff
Quality Assurance To ensure that the quality of grant management is uniform across the Department Establish and track grant manager key performance indicators Provide weekly check-ins with the grant managers using a standard format Provide Leadership with documentations of performance gaps and assist with developing the performance improvement plans Provide documentation of performance excellence to support promotion Design and implement grant manager career classification (Junior vs. Senior) system. • Identify national and regional trainings and conferences for grant managers to attend

Required Skills
Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of related experience; Masters' degree preferred.
