POSTION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Associate Director of Recruiting
plays a crucial leadership role within the Office of Admissions. This
individual will primarily be responsible for the development and execution of
recruiting strategies, including oversight of the travel schedule,
communication and marketing initiatives, and relationship management with key
constituents. In conjunction with the Director of Admissions and Associate
Director of Admissions, this position will also play a key role in developing
and coordinating initiatives to meet targeted enrollment goals pursuant to the
Seminary's vision and mission.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supervisory
Oversees positions of Enrollment Advisors and Senior Enrollment Advisors,
as it relates to recruiting efforts
Manage Recruitment Activities
Tracks and analyzes recruitment-related data and productivity as part of a
strategic enrollment management process
Applies data-driven approach to recruitment, travel, and marketing
Assesses recruitment activities to determine overall effectiveness and
efficiencies
Builds annual recruitment, marketing, and communication strategies
Develops, implements, and administers plans, programs, and events for
general and targeted student recruitment in support of institutional goals
Design and execute professional, high-quality recruiting events
Provides regular reports and feedback to the Director of Admissions and
Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Se1vices
Exercises consistent relationship management to ensure key partners are
contacted during the recruitment cycle
Collaborates with all of EMT, as well as other key departments on campus,
including but not limited to Communications, Community Formation and
Alumni, in order to maximize recruitment strategies and efforts
Travel as required to perform duties and achieve set goals
Manages Enrollment Advisors and Senior Enrollment Advisors
Trains and mentors Enrollment Advisors and Senior Enrollment Advisors and
maintains stream of communication of changes and updates for accurate
external messaging.
Travels to global extension sites for on-site training and event
collaboration as needed
Organizes and oversees recruitment schedules and initiatives for all
Enrollment Advisors and Senior Enrollment Advisors
Ensures consistency in table displays, swag options, and marketing
materials across all learning environments
Implements standard recruiting practices for recruitment
Manages travel and event details for recruitment opportunities outside
Admissions Staff
Leads expansion recruitment efforts into new territories
Networking/Recruiting
Responsible for networking with a variety of contacts including alumni,
pastors, educators, and ministry leaders of para-church ministries to
promote the Seminary and generate personal leads. Upon making contacts
following up appropriately to encourage action.
Travel in representation of the seminary, building new relationships and
exploring new territory while creating a solid funnel of prospects for the
Admissions Office at Asbury Theological Seminary.
Maintain a high level of productivity to meet and exceed established
Admissions goals. Must be able to multi-task efficiently.
Operate within the highest ethical standards and integrity in al l aspects
of the position; maintain ethical practice and keep all information about
candidates confidential; assist al l interested parties regardless of
race, gender, denomination, etc.
Work independently on a daily basis, creating a sol id plan of
recruitment; work interdependently with a team, assisting students in the
admissions process.
Effectively strengthen relationships with alumni and other key
constituents.
Take initiative within a responsible budget-management philosophy to
expand the current territory of Asbury Theological Seminary.
Exhibit intuitiveness and the ability to adapt to change. Due to the
nature of this position, the ability to acclimate quickly to a variety of
situations and audiences and the ability to "think on one's feet" are a
must.
Applicant Counseling
Work with students and facilitate communication as they discern their call
and degree choice
Maintain appropriate print, electronic and verbal communication with
inquired, applied, admitted and confirmed individuals.
Determine admissibility of applicants acting in coordination with the
Graduate Admissions Committee as defined by committee policies.
Review and communicates the status of applicants' files.
Work with prospective students in order to lead them through the
application process.
Student Advising
Maintains appropriate print, electronic and verbal communication with
inquired, applied, admitted and confirmed individuals.
Maintains a personal case load of perspective students, orients the
student s to degree programs, assists them in developing an educational
plan consistent with the student's needs and ministry goals, including
course planning and the scheduling and registering of classes
Provides accurate information to students about institutional policies,
procedures, resources, and programs and advises students concerning
advanced standing, waivers, and transfers
Develops and maintains reportable means of retention communications for
incoming students' initial enrollment and registration s
Maintains data and communications systems for monitoring student
enrollment and registrations for successful program initiation and
completion, and for enrollment management reporting
Meets with prospective students during campus visits, participates in
collaborative meetings and training sessions, and works on special
projects and other duties as assigned
Maintains reportable means of tracking all student contacts
Other Responsibilities:
Maintains awareness of Seminary admission standard s, academic programs
and delivery systems
Coordinates information exchange with Seminary departments for the
successful matriculation of prospective students
Contributes to strategic planning, improvement, and implementation of
admissions procedures
Works closely with Director of Admissions in creating recruitment schedule
and marketing pieces
Other duties as assigned.
Tools and Equipment:
Computer, Campus Management, Slate, Excel and Microsoft Office Suite,
Google Drive, Phone/ShoreTel, and Internet
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
This is a high-detail position that requires excellent communication skills,
intuitiveness, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure of
goals and deadlines.

Asbury Seminary
Education: Bachelor's degree Required, Master's degree preferred
Experience and demonstrated ability in leading people
3 or more years of experience in sales, preferably higher education with
graduate students
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated skill in organizational, promotional, and long-range planning
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal Associate Director of Recruiting will be able to process and
organize data efficiently, build relationships that lead to matriculation with
prospective students, and build rapport with and motivate teams toward common
goals. This individual must multi-task well and follow through to project
completion.
