About This Role:

The Associate Director of Admissions – Recruitment is responsible for meeting targeted enrollment growth goals by representing and marketing Lamar University to prospective students through supervision of assigned staff and managing an individual caseload. The Associate Director directs the development, planning, implementation and evaluation of student recruitment and yield activities.

What You'll Do – Position Duties

As a member of our team, you will have an impact on our clients through accomplishment of the following responsibilities:

  • Supervises assigned team of Recruitment staff
  • Develops and regularly assesses yearly recruitment plan for all areas of student recruitment, including but not limited to Freshman, Transfer, Graduate, and International student recruitment.
  • Includes special student populations in student recruitment planning, including minority student recruitment and initiatives towards earning Hispanic Serving Institution status
  • Develops and maintains recruitment partnerships, including Community Based Organizations (CBOs), high school, and local/community partnerships
  • Promotes a recruitment strategy, including the annual recruitment plan that is aligned to overall goals of Lamar University within assigned recruitment territory
  • Recommends opportunities to enhance marketing and student services from inquiry through orientation to ensure that a diverse student body is attracted and enrolled
  • Provides and analyzes information in the Student Information System (Banner) and CRM (Slate), for management purposes by producing reports as needed
  • Collaborates with leadership team to determine yearly and intermittent goals/objectives are designed, measured and effectively lead
  • Responsible for team's successful results while promoting team dynamics through active participation and leadership
  • Identifies skill gaps and works with employees to identify remedies and sponsor successful application of those remedies
  • Collaborates with Admissions Counselors and leadership to ensure operational activities within the admission office are streamlined and productive
  • Maintains competency and professional currency through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses as requested by office leadership
  • Assists with the planning and execution of special programs and projects
  • Stay abreast of campus events, current happenings, news items, research and other items deemed important
  • This position is expected to formulate, affect, interpret or implement management policies or operating practices.
  • Preforms all other essential duties as assigned.
