Position Overview
The Facilities Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Associate Director, Construction to join our team. The Associate Director will aid with the performance coordination, and oversight of planning and construction. Plan, direct, or coordinate activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems. Participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: Review plans and specifications for accuracy, completeness of data, and compliance with existing codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. Plan, schedule, or coordinate construction project activities to meet deadlines. Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports. Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, or other regulations. Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with environmental regulations. Analyzes and directs action related to construction process, as related to requests for information, submittals, change orders, etc. Responsible for establishing job standards for subordinate staff and effectively evaluating staff. Assure the preparation of complex statements of work; plans and specifications, and solicitation documents and review. Assure the preparation of request for proposals, invitation for bids, and related formal solicitation documents. Leads a team including the Project Engineer, Architect and Construction Foreman.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and six (6) year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
