Your new role
The Associate Dean (Medicine) has delegated responsibility for leadership
and management activities including implementation of strategic plans and
projects, and management of governance, administration and staffing. The
Deputy Dean will also support development of rural health programs and the
School's overall program of research.
In this role, you will demonstrate:

About us
Curtin Medical School Curtin Medical School comprises the disciplines of
medicine, medical radiation science, pharmacy, laboratory medicine and
biomedical science. It is one of four schools within the Faculty of Health
Sciences, alongside two affiliated research institutes (CHIRI and enAble).
The flagship MBBS program commenced in 2017, and delivered predominantly in
state-of-the-art clinical teaching and simulation facilities on the
University's Bentley campus.
The MBBS is the only undergraduate medical degree in Western Australia, and
now enrols 120 new students each year, with preferential selection of students
with a rural, Indigenous Australian, or disadvantaged background. Its unique
curriculum and dynamic clinical placement program is driven by a future-
focussed approach to medicine. In addition, the School has ten affiliated
metropolitan hospital clinical placement sites, along with health campuses in
Midland (Perth) and Kalgoorlie (Goldfields, WA),is a member of Rural
Clinical School WA, and has close links with metropolitan and rural primary
care and other community-based healthcare providers.

We are looking for someone with…
A medical degree and unconditional AHPRA registration as a medical
practitioner or the demonstration of the ability to gain such registration
PhD in a field relevant to medicine
Substantial clinical and academic experience in Medicine.
Record of clinical practice in rural and remote locations and in
Indigenous health.
An outstanding contribution to clinical research and/or scholarship in
learning and teaching.
A record of leadership in the discipline/profession at either a state,
national or international level.
Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills, with the
ability to foster the development of a collegial and supportive working
environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with
cross-cultural sensitivity.
Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies,
procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions
of this position.
