  • Job Summary

    The primary duties of this position are to produce all financial reports necessary for internal and external customers. These include, but are not limited to, quarterly board reports and projections, fiscal year annual financial reports (statements, notes and schedules), and any other miscellaneous reports requested by the Controller and Director of Financial Analysis or the Vice President for Business Affairs. This position has supervisory duties over the general accounting area of the Controller's office.

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise General Accounting staff, including student workers
  • Acting supervisor of Controller's Office in Controller's absence
  • Prepare Annual Financial Report
  • Assist with annual NCAA Statement
  • Create/update various schedules and reconciliations for Legislative Auditors and University of Louisiana System
  • Assist with implementation of new GASB pronouncements
  • Maintain records in Lease Controller for University leases
  • Prepare Quarterly Auxiliary Reports for University of Louisiana System
  • Maintain daily University banking operations, including set-up, receipt, and recording of all banking activity
  • Assist Controller with various projects related to all areas of the Controller's Office including Payroll, Grants, Accounts Payable, and Student Accounts
  • Prepare and submit unclaimed property reports
  • Prepare various reconciliations and journal entries throughout the year
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the Controller or Vice President for Business Affairs.
  • Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Accounting with at least 5 years of professional level experience required. Supervisory experience required. MBA or CPA preferred. Preference will be given to candidates who have strong financial reporting and higher education experience.
