  • RECTOR OF THE SILESIAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY announces the competition for the position of assistant in a group of research and teaching employees in the Division of Geochronology and Environmental Isotopes at the Institute of Physics - Centre for Science and Education at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, 2A Akademicka St.

    Job description:

    1) the competition for the position of assistant is open to persons who meet the requirements specified in the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2021, item 478, as amended) and the Statute of the Silesian University of Technology of 3 June, 2019 (Legal Monitor of SUT of 2020, item 339 as amended),

    2) estimated work commencement date: 01.03.2022,

    3) workplace and type of contract: Division of Geochronology and Environmental Isotopes at the Institute of Physics - Centre for Science and Education, full-time employment contract,

    4) period of employment: from 01.03.2022 to 28.02.2026 (with the possibility of extension for indefinite period).

    Requirements:

    1) a professional MSc or MSc eng. title in the field of natural sciences in the discipline of physical sciences,

    2) active participation in international and national conferences (at least 3),

    3) communicative command of the English language, which enables conducting didactic activities,

    4) knowledge of the Polish language (for foreigners) confirmed by a certificate.

    Additional requirements:

    1) a doctoral degree in the discipline of physical sciences will be the an additional advantage,

    2) completion of at least one month foreign internship or a three-month domestic internship in research, industrial or local government units,

    3) participation in scientific and research projects,

    4) publication record in the field of natural radioactivity or isotope studies of the environment, confirmed by at least 3 publications (author or co-author) indexed in the Web Of Science and/or Scopus database,

    5) knowledge and experience in teaching activities in the field of physics,

    6) experience in studying the natural isotopic composition of the environment,

    7) experience in the technique of isotope ratio mass spectrometry.

    4) list of scientific, didactic and organizational achievements,

    5) individual development plan,

    6) current opinion on the candidate issued by at least one academic teacher with the academic degree of habilitated doctor – academic tutor or supervisor of the master's or doctoral dissertation,

    7) declaration of active knowledge of a modern foreign language,

    8) document confirming the knowledge of the Polish language (for candidates for whom Polish is not a native language),

    9) declaration that the Silesian University of Technology will be the primary place of work.
