  • University of Wroclaw invites applications for the position of ASSISTANT at the Faculty of Biological Sciences nr 6.2021.WNB of day 9.10.2021r.

    Candidates should submit the following documents:

  • Curriculum vitae with information about the course of professional work.

  • Self-report containing the characteristics of the scientific achievements to date.
  • List of scientific publications.
  • A copy of the doctoral diploma or a certificate from the dean's office confirming the award of the doctoral degree.
  • Electronic versions of the two most important publications (or manuscripts of unpublished works) which the candidate considers to be representative of his / her scientific output.
  • Two letters of recommendation directly sent by the recommenders to the Committee Chairman via e-mail (boguslaw.pawlowski@uwr.edu.pl); the letters are made known to Committee members only, and, by entering the contest, the candidate waives the right to inspect them.
  • A declaration that in the event of employment, the University of Wrocław will be the primary place of work.

    Skills/Qualifications

    Requirements for candidates:

  • Doctoral degree in biological sciences, obtained no longer than 7 years ago (The candidate must meet the conditions specified in the definition of "Young Scientist / Researcher". A young researcher is defined as a person conducting scientific activity, holding a doctoral degree for no longer than 7 years).
  • Experience in research work in the field of genetics, physiology and molecular biology of model organisms Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Schizosaccharomyces pombe.
  • Knowledge of standard methods used in genetics and molecular biology for S. cerevisiae and S. pombe (e.g. gene disruption, DNA labelling, protein tagging, gene cloning, DNA mutagenesis, PCR, Real-Time PCR, reverse transcription, DNA / RNA / protein extraction, nucleic acid and protein electrophoresis, Southern blot, Western blot, co-immunoprecipitation, yeast two-hybrid system, protein pull-downs, tetrad dissection, fluorescent microscopy).
  • An added advantage will be the knowledge of bioinformatics, pulse field gel electrophoresis, flow cytometry, live cell imaging, FISH (fluorescence in situ hybridization), immunofluorescence.
  • Participation in the implementation of research grants as a contractor and/or principal investigator.
  • Scientific achievements documented by scientific publications, presentations of research results at scientific conferences.
  • Conducted research must fall within the discipline of biological sciences.
  • Fluent knowledge of Polish and English in speech and writing is required.
