DUTIES

Thompson Rivers University, School of Business and Economics (SoBE) invites applications for a one-year limited term contract appointment (one year) in Supply Chain Management, starting Sept. 1st, 2021. The purpose of this position is to provide additional teaching and service capacity for the 2021-2022 academic year to support the Department of Management, Information and Supply Chain as we recruit for a new tenure-track position in the area of Supply Chain Management with an expected starting date during 2022.

In this position, candidates will teach eight sections during the 2021-2022 academic year, four in each of the fall and winter terms. Each section has a maximum of 40 students. The position entails developing and sustaining high- quality teaching and learning environments for students and making a service contribution to the department. Preference will be given to candidates with the ability to teach in a variety of related Supply Chain courses. Courses will be delivered on-campus so residency in Kamloops is required.

About the Department of Management, International Business, Information and Supply Chain (MISC)

The Department of Management, International Business, Information and Supply Chain is one of five departments in the School of Business and Economics. It is a supportive and collegial team, with eight full-time faculty members. MISC delivers both core courses to all BBA, graduate, and post baccalaureate students, and manages the Supply Chain and International Business majors and post baccalaureate programs.

About the School of Business and Economics

With over 2000 on-campus students the School of Business and Economics is the largest business school in the interior of British Columbia, offering undergraduate, post baccalaureate and graduate programs in business and economics including Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master in Environmental Economics and Management (MEEM), Master of Science in Environmental Economics and Management (MSEEM). SoBE is also Thompson Rivers University's largest faculty. What makes SoBE special is that even with its size it maintains a collaborative environment, with support provided to assist professors with both research and teaching.

QUALIFICATIONS

SoBE seeks applicants with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching in the field of Supply Chain Management. The educational and professional requirements for the position are at least a master's degree in a Supply Chain-related area, or MBA with significant coursework in Supply Chain Management, or MBA with significant teaching or professional experience in Supply Chain Management/Operations Management. It is expected that applicants demonstrate excellent knowledge of a variety of supply chain topics and strong teaching skills. The ability to teach multiple courses in the department is desirable.
