    Job Description

The Desert Research Institute (DRI) Division of Atmospheric Sciences is seeking an Assistant Research Professor to advance a research program in atmospheric physics. This position will be located in DRI's Northern Nevada Science Center in Reno, NV and will integrate observations and models to explore interactions among aerosols, clouds, radiation and the environment. The successful candidate will have demonstrated knowledge of global observations of aerosols, characterizing their physical and optical properties, and their role in the radiant environment in the atmosphere. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated expertise in analysis of in- situ and remote sensing measurements, including climatological analysis of large datasets. The successful candidate will also have experience in the design, assembly, and operation of small field deployable instrumentation for measurements of atmospheric radiance and irradiance quantities. Familiarity with techniques for modeling atmospheric radiance and irradiance quantities is also desired.
