Assistant Registrar (PGR and Graduation)
Job description
Permanent, 37 hours per week
Would you like to join a friendly team of HE administrative professionals and take on strategic responsibility for an area of our work? Are you interested in supporting the University's regulatory framework for postgraduate research students and managing our graduation ceremonies? Would you like to develop quality processes and get involved in student casework? Are you motivated to set and excel targets and improve customer service? If so, you might like to join us!
Our Registry service is a small and vibrant team committed to continuous improvement of the student experience and the processes and systems we use to manage it. Based in a central department and working collaboratively across the institution, you will be adept at leading and working across teams to achieve goals. You will have previous experience of managing a team and may be looking to move into a more senior management role. You will be flexible, solutions-focused and pragmatic. Accustomed to working with a broad range of people to solve organisational problems, you will have excellent interpersonal and influencing skills. Ideally you will have a working knowledge of Quality Assurance in higher education and be familiar with applying student regulations to a range of circumstances, and you will certainly have an in- depth understanding of the challenges faced by and opportunities open to the higher education sector.
With strategic management responsibility for a team of five, reporting directly to the Director of Registry, you will work collaboratively with our senior team to define performance expectations and ensure goals are met across the Service. There will be opportunities for you to get involved in project work and other developmental activities as well.
Informal enquiries are welcome to Dr Rachel Birds, Director of Registry on 01484 957777 or email: [email protected]
We offer an excellent employment package including hybrid working, blending a mix of remote and on-campus working (dependent on work duties).
If you are currently registered as a student at the University, please note that you may only apply for part-time jobs of 15 hours or less per week.
