We are seeking a dynamic and committed individual with demonstrable management experience at a senior level to lead the Graduate School team within the Education Section of the Medical Sciences Divisional Office. The Assistant Registrar (Graduate School) is a key post within the Divisional Office responsible for the operation and development of the Medical Sciences Graduate School. The post offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to the work of the Division in an area of strategic priority and in support of our internationally recognised postgraduate provision. Reporting to the Head of Education Policy and Planning, the post-holder will work closely with the Academic Director of the Graduate School and with the Chair of the Divisional Board's Graduate School Committee to develop and articulate the Division's priorities, plans and policies relating to graduate matters, as well as ensuring, through leadership of the Graduate School administrative team, the efficient delivery of advice, support and services in such areas as graduate admissions, studentship funding, and on-course graduate student administration.

You will need to have the intellectual calibre and analytical skills of a good honours degree-holder or equivalent; experience of administration and management at a senior level, ideally in a higher education setting; the ability to communicate effectively and gain the trust and confidence of a wide range of people within and outside the organisation, including senior academics; and the ability to work equally effectively on development of strategy and policy and on operational matters.

This post is permanent and available immediately. Although an on-site presence is a requirement, there is also the opportunity for regular remote working. If you wish to discuss the role informally, please email [email protected].

Applications for this vacancy are to be made online. You will be required to upload a CV and supporting statement as part of your online application.
