The Prosthodontics department in the Indiana University School of Dentistry is seeking qualified applicants for our open rank faculty position (clinical or tenure track, at assistant, associate or full professor level). This will be a 12-month appointment at 1.0 FTE, with an anticipated start date of January 1, 2024, or sooner.
YOUR TEACHING AND LEADERSHIP MATTERS With each student, each patient, and when working with colleagues, we rewrite the script determining the future of those we serve. We are seeking a new faculty member with expertise and experience in all aspects of prosthodontics and maxillofacial prosthodontics (such as prosthodontic care of the head and neck cancer patient) ready to build upon the school's and campus's tradition of excellence, advancing scholarship, education, clinical service, and community engagement.
Our new faculty member will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a desire to create an environment that promotes collegiality, collaboration, and cultural diversity among members of various education, research, and service communities. The candidate will have expertise in digital methodologies and workflows in prosthodontics and maxillofacial prosthodontics, including how those are implemented in didactic, preclinical, and clinical instruction as well as scholarly activity.
The primary responsibilities of this faculty member will be to provide preclinical, clinical, and didactic instruction to graduate students (Prosthodontics and Maxillofacial Prosthetics residents), course directorship(s), administrative and supervisory oversight of the professional and laboratory support staff; attending tumor board sessions; assisting in developing clinical protocols; working and collaborating with Hospital Dentistry, oncologists, maxillofacial surgeons, and providing patients with the full scope of intraoral and extraoral maxillofacial prosthodontic care. Teaching responsibilities may also include preclinical, clinical, and didactic instruction to dental students in the predoctoral education program.
