At the Department of Archaeology and Museology, we are looking for a colleague
for the position of assistant professor with a focus on digital
humanities, image processing in archaeology, 3D modelling in archaeology and
visualization of artefacts.
MAIN JOB CONTENT
Expected scope of employment:
Pedagogical
Participation in conducting lectures or other forms of teaching in
Bachelor's and Master's study programmes and lifelong learning programmes.
Participation in the organization of educational activities.
Supervising, consulting or opposing Bachelor's theses, in exceptional
cases Master's theses.
Participation in publishing activities, especially for educational
purposes.
Research
Participation in research and development activities, and the related
innovations.
Co-working on grant projects.
Participation in the organization of research activities.
Other
Participation in the operational and administrative activities related to
the agreed type of work, following the instructions of the department
head.
Common administrative tasks within the management of own courses, the use
of e‑learning and communication with students through the MU Information
System.
Participation in the organization of research and education activities,
including the related administration.
Organization and participation of students and academic staff in foreign
internships.
Participation in the promotion of the field.
Candidate requirements:
Ph.D. degree in Archaeology – prerequisite
professional focus on digital humanities, image processing in archaeology,
3D modelling, artefact visualization and data management – prerequisite
publication activity in prestigious international journals (Q1 WOS or
Scopus) and participation in foreign conferences
work experience in the field of archaeology for at least 5 years
very good command of English at the B2 level
excellent command of Czech, both spoken and written
Requirements related to job content:
standard level of computer skills (MS Office, MS Teams, etc.)
knowledge of working with Agisoft Metashape or Agisoft Photoscan software
ability to actively involve students in the teaching process and to
stimulate discussion
ability of using modern teaching aids and materials
ability to clearly formulate research results
ability of independent professional and scientific work, including
publication activity
ability of independent research and publication activity
ability of system coordination of processes, independent and conceptual
work
high level of organization and negotiation skills
diligence, responsibility, reliability, patience and friendliness when
working with people
Preferred skills:
knowledge of the university environment
experience from the university environment
previous experience in working in the field of education
