    Position Title Assistant Professor Classification Title Assistant Professor Department Chemistry - MU2520 Job Description

    The Department of Chemistry at Marshall University seeks to fill a tenure- track position at the assistant professor level in any area of organic chemistry starting in the Fall 2023 semester. Qualified applicants will have a Ph.D., postdoctoral or equivalent experience, and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in both teaching and research. The Department expects development of an original, high quality research program that engages undergraduate and master's students from inception to disseminations. We seek candidates enthusiastic about incorporating research into their teaching. Teaching will be in the area of expertise and in first-year chemistry courses.

    The Department also seeks, candidates who will contribute to the University's general education curriculum, and its emphasis on using high-impact teaching practices, particularly those affiliated with one (or more) of the institution's pedagogical initiatives (e.g., Community-based Learning, Critical Thinking, First Year Seminar, Writing Across Curriculum, etc.). Additionally, the ideal candidate will contribute to the College's support of interdisciplinary programs of study.
