Position Summary
The University of Central Arkansas Assistant Professor is responsible for teaching, research and service. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. The position is tenure track and a nine- month appointment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong background in teacher evaluation systems, foundations of learning and development, behavior guidance, curriculum, and K-6 content methods/instructional strategies. Strong background in school culture and culturally competent teaching. Knowledge, skills, and experience with students with disabilities and general education students. Strong interest in scholarly activities (i.e. presentations, publications, and research). Evidence of collaboration and ability to work with others. Ability to work in a dynamic and diverse environment. Strong commitment to the use of mobile technology (specifically iPad, MacBook, ChromeBook hardware and iOS, G Suite, and creativity apps) to create engaging learning experiences for students.

Required Education and/or Experience
Doctorate in Elementary or related education degree (A.B.D. considered). Minimum of three years in a public school setting.
Preferred Education and/or Experience
University teaching experience preferred. Background in the use of mobile learning and instructional technology. C.A.E.P. experience
License(s)/Certifications (Required or Preferred)
Teaching license in elementary education.
