Salary Information Commensurate with experience Department Summary

The Department of Physiology and Anatomy is home to researchers with a wide variety of interests and approaches. On the Physiology side, the Department is truly integrative as all faculty are engaged in interdisciplinary studies that span molecular, cellular, systems and behavioral sciences, with strong traditions of excellence in the study of cardiovascular, renal and neural- humoral control systems. The research activities of many of our faculty and graduate students involve studies of normal physiology such as exercise and travel to altitude as well as pathophysiological states such as heart failure, hypertension, cardiopulmonary bypass surgery, diabetes, obesity and sleep apnea. On the anatomy side, current anatomy faculty in the Center for Anatomical Sciences have teaching and research backgrounds in anatomy, histology, embryology, biological anthropology, evolutionary biology, education science, and K-12 science outreach. Position Summary

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lecture in human gross anatomy course for medical, PA, PT, and/or graduate students. In addition, teach cadaver laboratory sections employing dissection and/or prosections.
  • Potential lecture and lab instruction in histology, embryology, and/or neuroanatomy.
  • Mentor graduate students in the Structural Anatomy and Rehabilitation Science graduate program.
  • Participate in research projects in clinical human anatomy, biomedical sciences, orthopedics, biomechanics, anatomical education, and/or science education outreach programs.
  • Minimum Qualifications

    Must have a Ph.D., D.O., M.D. or equivalent degree. Candidate must have minimum of 1 year of teaching experience in dissection- based human gross anatomy.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience with online course development for human gross anatomy. Previous experience teaching human gross anatomy to physician assistant, physical therapy, and both osteopathic and allopathic medical students. Previous experience teaching both prosection- and dissection-based gross anatomy. An active anatomy-focused research program that complements those of current CAS faculty.
