Organizational Unit Overview
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Brody School of Medicine at
East Carolina University is seeking a full-time faculty member at the
Assistant or Associate Professor level; tenure track or fixed term
appointments are available. The department supports a four-year, fully
accredited residency in obstetrics and gynecology and provides education for
medical students on a continual basis.
The mission of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility
encompasses the triad of academic medicine: leadership in patient care,
teaching of medical students and resident physicians, and pursuit of clinical
and basic science research. The division offers expertise in comprehensive
infertility evaluation and treatment, advanced operative laparoscopy, support
for in-vitro fertilization, and management of reproductive endocrine
The physician hired will participate in all areas of patient care and teaching
provided by the division.
Job highlights include:
· Employment by East Carolina University's Brody School of Medicine
· Hospital privileges at Vidant Medical Center, a 974 bed Level I Trauma
Center with a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
· A referral network including a 29-county area with a population of 1.4
Active involvement in the teaching of medical students and residents,
multidisciplinary teams providing clinical care, and ongoing research
Candidates must possess an MD or DO degree, be eligible to practice in the
State of North Carolina by the time of employment and qualify for medical
staff privileges at Vidant Medical Center, our affiliated hospital. Candidates
must also be board certified or active candidates for board certification with
the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and must be eligible for or
have a certificate of special competence in Reproductive Endocrinology and
Infertility. Rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
