The School of Social Work at the University of Memphis invites applications
for a tenure-track assistant professor position to begin August 2022. This
9-month faculty appointment offers a competitive salary and full benefits.
Responsibilities will include teaching, research, scholarly activities,
advising, and service.

successful candidate will join a positive, cooperative group of highly
motivated faculty who are committed to advancing social justice.
Applicants must have an earned doctoral degree in social work or a related
field. An MSW from an accredited program is strongly preferred. The School
also prefers applicants with a minimum of two years post-MSW practice
experience and a strong publication record. ABD's who will have their degree
by May 2022 and meet the position qualifications will be considered.
Applicants should be experienced teachers. Applicants may be expected to teach
in the BA, MSW, or DSW program.
We are especially interested in applicants who have expertise in any of the
following areas: management theory or practice; quantitative methods or mixed
methods; health disparities or social determinants of health; racial
disparities in social services; or telehealth and technology in social work
practice. We are also especially interested in applicants whose research
agenda connects to Council on Social Work Education's focus on ADEI
(antiracism, diversity, equity, and inclusion).
Minimum Position Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications are:
Doctoral degree in social work or a closely related field
Experience teaching in higher education
Ability to teach in at least two social work content areas
Preferred Qualifications are:
MSW from a CSWE-accredited program
Two years post-MSW practice experience
A strong record of scholarly publications
Ability to secure external funding
Research focused on ADEI (antiracism, diversity, equity, or inclusion)
