ACADEMIC SURGICAL PATHOLOGIST

The Department of Pathology at the University of Louisville is seeking a full-
time surgical pathologist at the assistant, associate or professor level. The
department is experiencing a period of robust growth in its clinical
footprint. Particularly with the recent formation of University of Louisville
Health and the acquisition of a large network of regional hospitals and
surgery centers. The position requires strong general surgical pathology
skills, with expertise in Head and Neck or Cardiothoracic pathology preferred.
Candidates with medical renal pathology and dermatopathology experience are
also encouraged to apply. The candidates should have strong interest in the
academic mission including maintaining scholarly activities and participating
in graduate and undergraduate medical education. The position offers a high
degree of flexibility in developing and promoting a successful career in
academic pathology tailored around the applicant's areas of interest and
strength. Leadership and growth opportunities are also available. The
University of Louisville and the James Graham Brown Cancer Center offer
opportunities for basic, clinical and translational research.
The applicants should be board certified/eligible in anatomic or combined
anatomic and clinical pathology and be qualified for an unrestricted medical
license in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The academic rank, tenure and salary
will be based upon level of qualifications, experience and scholarly
accomplishments. The compensation package is very competitive.
The Division of Anatomic Pathology is supported by several research and
diagnostic laboratories on campus, including strong core instrument facilities
and a standalone immunohistochemistry and research core.
