ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: The Psychology Department has 17 tenured and tenure- track faculty members. We have an active Ph.D. program and a vibrant research environment. Additionally, the Department offers a nationally recognized doctoral program with concentrations in Social/Cultural Psychology, Legal Psychology, Behavioral Neuroscience, Bilingualism, Language, and Cognition, and Health Psychology.

Job Description:

The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), Department of Psychology, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Social and Legal psychology, broadly construed. The successful candidate will conduct research that merges social and legal psychology. UTEP's location provides unique opportunities for research involving immigration, multiculturalism, and bilingualism. Faculty have also successfully collaborated with community partners, such as the Department of Probation, Housing Authority, and Fort Bliss (the second largest Army base in the country). Advanced statistical expertise is also valued. Teaching responsibilities will correspond to the successful candidate's research expertise.

Appointment is scheduled to start in the Fall 2022 semester.

Requirements:

A Ph.D. in Psychology; published research; potential to attract external funding; and the ability to teach and direct research with a high level of productivity.
