The Department of Chemistry and GeoSciences of Jacksonville State University's College of Science & Mathematics is seeking to hire a scholar for a tenure- track position at the rank of Assistant Professor.
The Assistant Professor of Physics, housed in the Department of Chemistry and Geosciences, and in the College of Science and Mathematics, provides educational services in physics. This individual teaches physics to traditional and non-traditional students during the day or evening. The Assistant Professor may be required to teach introductory and upper-level physics courses on campus, off-campus, and online courses depending on the needs of the department and the location. They will serve as a mentor to students, potentially creating faculty-led research opportunities. The physics program is student-centered. Working with students is a critical part of the position requirements.
All applicants must have an earned Doctorate in Physics at the time of appointment and accomplishments sufficient to indicate the ability to meet the requirements of the rank of Assistant Professor at JSU in teaching, research, service, and collegiality.
