The School of Nursing at Cleveland State University invites highly motivated applicants for a full-time tenure-track appointment at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor or Assistant Professor with adult health nursing experience. Teaching assignments may include teaching in undergraduate and graduate-level courses in the classroom and/or clinical settings. This faculty would partner with other disciplines to create innovative research agendas regarding care of adults and the elderly during their lifespan. Faculty members are expected to pursue scholarly activity in their area of clinical specialization. Additional responsibilities include advising students, curriculum development, program assessment, and university service. Faculty enjoy the opportunity to engage student learning, a healthy work environment in the life of the School of Nursing, a unique urban research University, and a vibrant community. This is a tenure-track position that begins August 22, 2022.

Minimum Qualifications

A Doctorate in Nursing (DNP or PhD) with at least two years clinical nursing experience in caring for adult clients. Ph.D. must be earned by July 1, 2022. Candidates who are “all but dissertation” (ABD) are eligible to be hired at the rank of Instructor until Ph.D. degree is awarded. DNP degrees must be awarded within one year of hire date. Eligibility for Ohio Nursing license as a registered nurse with a record of clinical practice excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

At least 2 years of teaching experience in classroom or clinical settings. Record of clinical excellence in nursing practice and/or nursing education that supports the undergraduate and graduate nursing curriculum; demonstrates commitment to nursing as a profession; evidence of participating in nursing organizations at a leadership level; the ability to contribute through teaching and/or service to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community.
