The Department of Economics in the Fogelman College of Business and Economics at the University of Memphis is seeking applicants for an Assistant Professor of Teaching position for the 2023-2024 academic year, beginning August 21, 2023. This is a nine-month, non-tenure track appointment and hiring is contingent upon budget approval. The Assistant Professor of Teaching will teach primarily on-site classes but may be expected to teach on-line classes as well.

Effectively deliver instruction in introductory and upper-division economics electives; evaluate student learning; participate in related department activities; serve as student advisor; and comply with all Department, College, and University regulations. The Assistant Professor of Teaching will teach three 3-credit hour courses per semester and will be expected to participate in the intellectual life of the Department.

The Department is an academically diverse, professionally active group of 10 full-time faculty members with research expertise in topic areas such as applied economics and policy analysis, healthcare innovations, tech-econ and economics analytics, and econometrics. Minimum Position Qualifications

A PhD in Economics is required. College teaching experience is required and on-line teaching experience desired. Academic and professional engagement activities to qualify under AACSB accreditation guidelines are desired.
