Job Description:

The successful candidate will have a genuine interest and expertise in undergraduate teaching and advising, and a solid track record of professional development and scholarly activity. Service to the college and community is also expected. Experience in the sport industry is desired.

Poised for further expansion, Sport Management is one of York's most viable programs with a solid enrollment. The Program, like the entire campus, operates in an environment of exceptional collegiality. The Sport Management program is located within the Graham School of Business and enjoys state-of- the-art facilities, a relatively low student to faculty ratio, and a strong experiential learning component. With the use of a specialized computer lab, continued partnerships with external organizations, and student work experiences available in our impressive Grumbacher Sport and Fitness Center, the potential candidate can have their students pursue a wide variety of project-based learning opportunities. York College seeks innovative faculty and offers a variety of resources available for scholarship.

Requirements:

Requirements for this position include an earned doctorate in sport management or a closely related field. The successful candidate will have the ability to deliver a wide variety of undergraduate sport management courses, and especially focus on Sport Sales/Ticketing, Event & Facility Management, and Sport Law. In addition, the successful candidate will possess the clear ability to engage in scholarship, as evidenced by dissemination of work in the field (i.e., peer-reviewed presentations and publications). The ideal candidate will also possess knowledge of COSMA accreditation standards and have an extensive network of contacts within the sport industry.
