The University of Central Arkansas Assistant Professor is responsible for teaching, research and service. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. The position is tenure track and a nine- month appointment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as a core member of the APA-accredited program in Counseling Psychology.
Teach courses in line with program and department needs – e.g., graduate and undergraduate courses in counseling psychology, health psychology, abnormal psychology, multicultural psychology, and practicum.
Conduct an active program of research and scholarship with a clearly articulated agenda within the field of counseling psychology.
Mentor students through academic advising, research, and dissertation supervision.
Serve the department, university, and community in ways that promote professional psychology.

Required Education and/or Experience
The formal education of a doctorate from an APA-accredited program is required.
Preferred Education and/or Experience
Training as a “generalist” is preferred, and we are open to all qualified applicants; however, it would be helpful to have an interest in integrated health care, health psychology, prevention, and/or strength-based approaches. We are eager to support applicants who bring diversity to the department and university.
