Position Description

Primary Purpose and Essential Functions

At Pacific, we prepare our students to become problem-solvers, innovators and leaders. Through our multidisciplinary program, courses are taught by faculty members from each of our three departments, giving our students an exceptional, diverse learning experience.

The person in this position will teach ambulatory care courses, case-based courses, and pharmacy skills courses in the Pharm.D. curriculum. All specialties will be considered and are encouraged to apply. However, preference will be given to the candidates with a PGY2 in ambulatory care and those specialized in the areas of women's health, men's health, dermatology and/or immunotherapeutics, and pain management. Since this is a tenure track position, experience in research and/or scholarship is desired. In addition to teaching, scholarly activity and service on departmental, school and university committees are expected.

University of the Pacific recognizes that diversity, equity, and inclusion is foundational to the success of our valued students and employees. We prioritize policy and decision-making that demonstrates awareness of, and responsiveness to, the ways socio-cultural forces related to race, gender, ability, sexuality, socio-economic status, etc. impede or propel students, faculty, and staff.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A strong background in general ambulatory care or pharmacy practice is required.
  • A Pharm.D. with a PGY1 residency/fellowship or equivalent practice experience is required.
  • Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in California. If not licensed in California, licensure within one year of hire is expected.
  • Must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
  • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
  • Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative but not definitive of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel: Monday through Friday with four (4) days on campus required. Schedule is dependent on business needs. Assigned work hours could be as early as 8 a.m. and as late as 7 p.m., and weekends to work on courses are expected.

Hiring Range $115,000- $125,000 per year. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. Special Instructions
