The History Department at Old Dominion University invites applications for a
tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning in July
2022, with research concentration in Native North American History and a
preference for expertise in Environmental History.

Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities
Candidates must demonstrate ability to teach a United States survey course,
undergraduate courses on Early and Revolutionary North America, and
undergraduate and graduate courses in their areas of expertise.
Minimum Qualifications - Education or training
Ph.D. in history or a related field (such as American Studies or Native
American Studies) is required by the time of appointment.
Minimum Qualifications - Special licenses, registration or certification
Field of specialization is open; applicants who can contribute to
interdisciplinary programs in interethnic studies and are interested in
community outreach are preferred.
Conditions of Employment
In accordance with Executive Directive #18 issued by Governor Ralph Northam
