    The Chemistry and Biochemistry Department in the College of Science, at the University of Texas at Arlington, invites applications for a non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Instruction position.

    Department and College/School Information The department is a medium-sized unit comprising 22 tenure/tenure track faculty, 4 teaching faculty and 2 lab coordinators. The Chemistry and Biochemistry department has 300 majors taking one of 5 undergraduate degree programs BS (ACS Certified) in Chemistry, BS in Biochemistry, BS in Biological Chemistry and BA in Chemistry. In addition, a vibrant graduate program of 90 students with strong programs in all of the major areas in chemistry and biochemistry. The department is exceptionally well equipped, in particular the Shimadzu Center for Advance Analytical Chemistry provides numerous opportunities both in teaching and research.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    To teach undergraduate courses related to Organic Chemistry and General Chemistry. While teaching will be the primary focus of this position, duties pertaining to research support in single-crystal X-ray and/or Nuclear Magnetic Resonance techniques may be assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    PhD. In Organic Chemistry or closely related area and have a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience with single-crystal X-ray crystallography and/or NMR spectroscopy, including acquisition, analysis, and maintenance of instruments.
