The Russ College of Engineering and Technology at Ohio University invites applications for a full-time, benefits eligible, Assistant Professor of Instruction position in Industrial and Systems Engineering. The selected applicant will be expected to perform teaching and service. Candidates are expected to have strong interest in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. An interest in engineering pedagogy and innovative teaching methods is encouraged.

The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) in the Russ College of Engineering and Technology at Ohio University offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees at Ohio University's main campus in Athens, Ohio. The ISE Department also offers a successful online program leading to a Master of Engineering Management degree. The Assistant Professor of Instruction will be expected to teach in both the on-campus and online programs.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum qualifications for this position include a master's degree in industrial engineering or closely related field by the time of the appointment. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate exceptional teaching ability and must be capable of teaching multiple topics within the fields of industrial engineering and engineering management. The candidate must have previous experience teaching at the college level in industrial engineering or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have professional industry experience. A Ph.D. in industrial engineering or a closely related field is also preferred.

The ideal candidate will also have experience in developing and implementing innovative teaching methods and will have knowledge of engineering pedagogy and best practices in engineering education.

Department Industrial and Systems Engineering Pay Rate

Commensurate with experience and credentials.
