Job Description:

Assistant Professor, Healthcare Administration

The Dr. Donald E. and Lois J. Myers School of Nursing and Health Professions at York College of Pennsylvania is seeking experienced, innovative, and dynamic candidates for a full-time tenure-track faculty appointment to teach in our Bachelor of Healthcare Administration program. The School is committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service to support the development of a community of faculty, staff and students that embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The successful candidate will have responsibilities which include program curriculum development/revision, course development, recruitment of students, student advising, and internship co-op development. It is expected that the candidate will teach in the Healthcare Administration curriculum, maintain an active scholarship agenda in their field of expertise, and contribute service engagement to the College and community. Other teaching opportunities may be available across other disciplines.

The successful candidate is expected to:

  • Assure the development/revision and delivery of an up-to-date curriculum in alignment with professional and industry recommendations and best practices.
  • Develop, revise, prepare, and deliver course plans and materials.
  • Create and supervise internships or co-cops for inclusion in the Capstone course.
  • Recruit and advise students.
  • Contribute to the continued development and success of the school through leadership in teaching, scholarship, and service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Candidates should have an established record of teaching and professional experience, scholarship activities, and service. They must have a doctoral degree in Healthcare Administration or a closely related filed, have professional experience, and teaching experience in higher education.

    Positions will begin in August 2022.

    Requirements:

    Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills and have a strong commitment to working as part of a collaborative team in the Department of Health Professions.

    Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in Healthcare Administration or relevant discipline
  • Doctoral degree or have a plan for completing a doctoral program within 5 years
  • Experience in area of instruction.
  • At least 2 years of experience in teaching.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Administrative experience in healthcare setting.
