Description of the Department or Unit

The Department of Government and Justice Studies (GJS) is home to over 800 undergraduate majors in criminal justice and political science and over 70 graduate students in political science and public administration. It has 35 full-time tenure-track faculty who are at the forefront of their diverse areas of expertise and are amongst the most honored teachers at Appalachian State University. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The teaching load is 3 courses per semester for faculty with an active research agenda.
