The Department of English, Foreign Languages, and Speech Communication seeks to hire a full-time, Assistant Professor of Creative Writing (Tenure-Track). This position will also serve as the Creative Writing Program Director.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Education

Candidates must have terminal degree (MFA, PhD) in English/Creative Writing or other relevant discipline by date of appointment.

Minimum Required Experience

Three (3) or more years of successful relevant teaching experience at the college level which can include GTA experience

Proven publishing experience in peer-reviewed publications

Minimum Required Licenses and/or Certifications

None.

Skills and Abilities

Candidates must be capable of teaching a range of courses, workshops as well as literary subject area, for general education students as well as majors and graduate students.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Duties of the position include, but are not limited to :

Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, including workshops

Directing undergraduate and graduate theses

Advising undergraduate and graduate students

Contributing to the creative and intellectual life of the department through individual and collaborative initiatives

Maintaining an active research and publishing agenda.

Performing departmental and university committee service, attend in-person meetings and events (i.e. commencement), and maintain a schedule for professional development
