JOB SUMMARY:
The Department of Applied Social and Political Sciences (ASPS) in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences invites applications for a tenure- track Assistant Professor for the Non-profit Leadership Program beginning Fall 2022. Coppin State University seeks a forward-thinking leader for the Nonprofit Leadership (NPLS) Program who will teach both lower and upper division courses, serve as a liaison and develop greater collaborations and partnerships between departments, across campus and within the Baltimore community. The faculty member is expected to engage in community outreach and build relationships with community nonprofit organizations. It is expected that all faculty members' activities support departmental program goals/objectives and student learning outcomes (SLO's.).
The Department of Applied Social and Political Sciences offers bachelor's degree in Sociology, Political Science, Social Science, Urban Studies, Interdisciplinary Studies and Non-profit Leadership, a certificate in Nonprofit Leadership and minors in Anthropology, Sociology, Political Science, and Non-profit Leadership. The department also participates in a collaborative program with the University of Baltimore, leading to a master's degree in Human Services Administration.
The successful candidate will have teaching and leadership experiences in the field of non-profit leadership. The successful candidate must have experience in supporting and implementing co-curricular activities for students seeking the various non-profit certifications offered by the department. In addition, we seek a candidate who appreciates our unique composition and will be able to contribute to the growth of our multi-discipline social sciences department.
