Job Description

The Indiana University East School of Nursing and Health Sciences is seeking applicants for Assistant Professor (tenure-track or clinical rank) and/or Lecturer in Nursing positions; opportunity to teach in the BSN, RN to BSN mobility option, and MSN programs. Positions begin fall 2022 and is for the academic year, for both the tenure-track and/or long-term lecturer position. Candidates for all full-time faculty positions must demonstrate a strong desire to excel in teaching and provide on-going support for student success, in and out of the classroom, interacting with a diverse student and faculty community. Candidates for tenure-track positions must also have an interest in building a sustainable program of research, scholarship and/or creative activity.

Basic Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Assistant Professor

· Earned doctorate in nursing or a related field required for assistant professor; in all cases 18 graduate credit hours in nursing is required.

· Evidence of eligibility for licensure in Indiana.

· Minimum of 3 years of practice as a registered nurse (RN).

· Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and student success.

· Demonstrated ability to develop and sustain a program of research or scholarship.

· Demonstrated ability to work in a professional and collaborative team environment.

· Demonstrated understanding of the value of diversity of faculty, staff and students in an academic setting.

Required Qualifications: Lecturer

· A master's degree in nursing; convertible lecturer to assistant professor position available to those in doctoral study. In all cases 18 graduate credit hours in nursing is required.

· Evidence of eligibility for licensure in Indiana.

· Minimum of 3 years of practice as a registered nurse (RN).

· Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and student success.

· Demonstrated ability to work in a professional and collaborative team environment.

· Demonstrated understanding of the value of diversity of faculty, staff and students in an academic setting.

Preferred Qualifications: Assistant Professor and Lecturer

· Experience as a nursing educator; certification as a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) considered a plus.
