The HSC College of Pharmacy (HSCCP) is located at the HSC campus in Fort Worth, TX and is joined by colleges/schools of Osteopathic Medicine, Public Health, Health Professions, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and the UNTHSC/TCU School of Medicine. HSCCP graduated its first class and received accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) in 2017.
Position Summary
The University of North Texas Health Science Center (HSC) at Fort Worth College of Pharmacy (HSCCP) is inviting applications for a clinical pharmacist faculty position in the Department of Pharmacotherapy. This individual will serve as a College of Pharmacy faculty member who will enhance the UNTHSC vision and mission, while making meaningful contributions to the profession of pharmacy and the community. This position will maintain a practice site in acute care/internal medicine and provide pharmaceutical care to patients along with academic responsibilities related to the provision of experiential rotations for Doctor of Pharmacy candidates. The College of Pharmacy joined colleges/schools of Osteopathic Medicine, Public Health, Health Professions, and the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences on the campus in Fort Worth, TX in 2013. The College of Pharmacy graduated its first class and received accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) in 2017.
Located in the Fort Worth cultural district, the University of North Texas Health Science Center is one of the fastest-growing academic health science centers in Texas. The University currently enrolls 2,700 graduate students who are pursuing degrees in medicine, bio-medical sciences, pharmacy, physical therapy, physician assistant studies, and public health. The University is well-positioned for rapid expansion, matching the growing population and economic vitality of the DFW Metroplex. HSC at Fort Worth is also home to the University of North Texas Health Science Center and Texas Christian University (TCU) joint allopathic (MD) medical school. This establishes the HSC as one of the few campuses in the U.S. to support both an allopathic and an osteopathic college of medicine.

Essential function(s) of this position:
The University of North Texas Health Science Center College of Pharmacy (HSCCP) is inviting applications for an Assistant Professor – Internal Medicine faculty position in the Department of Pharmacotherapy. This individual will serve as a College of Pharmacy faculty member who will enhance the HSC vision and mission, while making meaningful contributions to the profession of pharmacy and the community.
Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
Works under the leadership of the Chair to deliver the PharmD curriculum for Professional Years 1 to 4 (PY1, PY2, PY3, PY4) as it relates to the pharmacy practice components of professional pharmacy education.
Works under the leadership of the Chair to continuously improve the PharmD curriculum for Professional Years 1 to 4 (PY1, PY2, PY3, PY4) as it relates to the pharmacy practice components of professional pharmacy education.
Actively participates as a preceptor for P4 students during Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPEs) with the potential for precepting P1-P3 students during Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPEs) from HSCCP.
Works collaboratively as an essential member of an interprofessional team offering expertise in evidence-based, guideline-directed, and cost-effective pharmacotherapy to improve clinical outcomes at assigned practice site.
Contributes to a culture of scholarly excellence within the Department through research that ensures that the faculty member remains on the cutting edge of their chosen areas of research and scholarly activity relevant to the future of pharmacy.
Contributes to a culture of collaboration within the Department and College that works in close cooperation with faculty of other Schools/Colleges at the HSC to provide interprofessional education that meets the needs of a diverse population of Texas for effective partnerships in health and therapy.
Contributes to service efforts that enhance the quality of pharmacy education and research in Texas and nationwide.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications:
Applicants must have graduated with a PharmD from an ACPE- accredited pharmacy program with a pharmacy degree and be eligible to practice pharmacy in Texas.
Completed an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice residency training program or possess a minimum of five years of acute care clinical patient related experience
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
Completed a post-graduate year two (PGY2) program in an acute care specialty such as internal medicine or pharmacotherapy, similar fellowship training, or have completed an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 pharmacy residency plus a minimum of three years of equivalent clinical pharmacy practice experience (e.g. internal medicine)
Board Certified or eligible for Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy
Required License / Registration / Certification
Applicants must have graduated with a PharmD from an ACPE- accredited pharmacy program with a pharmacy degree and be eligible to practice pharmacy in Texas.
