The Department of Sociology and Criminology & Law invites applications for a
full-time, nine-month, tenure accruing assistant professor with teaching and
research interests in data science for social research, as part of the
Artificial Intelligence initiative at the University of Florida to begin
August 16, 2022. We seek scholars who use innovative computational approaches
to study social and behavioral phenomena in criminology, population science,
social inequalities, or the human-environment interface. Innovative
computational approaches include computational social science methodologies,
network science, agent-based modeling/social simulations, computational text
analysis/natural language processing, complex systems science, and other
closely related approaches. We seek applicants with superior promise who
combine rigorous scholarship with excellence in teaching and a commitment to
securing external funding. Candidates should have their Ph.D. in Sociology or
Criminology or a closely-related field by August 15, 2022. The salary is
competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience and includes a
