The Department of Mathematics at Texas State University is seeking to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor with a research specialization in Mathematics Education starting Fall 2022. All positions are subject to availability of funds.

The successful candidate will be expected to establish a strong commitment to high-quality research in Mathematics Education. The candidate must also be dedicated to the teaching and mentoring of students at the graduate and undergraduate levels including serving in the K-12 mathematics teacher preparation programs. In addition, the candidate must be actively engaged in service to the department, college, university, and mathematical community. The starting salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications.

Required Qualifications

1. An earned doctorate in Mathematics Education prior to start of position. 2. M.S. in Mathematics. 3. Evidence of or potential for research excellence in Mathematics Education. 4. Evidence of excellence in teaching diverse student populations. 5. An ability to contribute to the departmental mission.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Evidence of research on undergraduate mathematics education. 2. Evidence of research on issues related to equity and equitable instructional practices. 3. Evidence of research on mathematics classroom discourse. 4. Evidence of or potential to obtain external funding. 5. Experience teaching prospective teachers at the college level. 6. Ability to teach graduate level courses in mathematics education.
