The Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor with a specialism in the development of evidence for educational policy and practice. The successful candidate will demonstrate outstanding research and teaching in one or more of the following areas: leadership, assessment, school effectiveness, or other aspects of educational policy and practice. The applicant should be able to contribute primarily to contemporary debates in UK educational policy and practice. In doing so, the candidate could engage with policy analysis, implementation or evaluation, and change in educational practice.
Applicants are required to have demonstrated strong use of methodological approaches that focus on quantitative research designs and analytical approaches including secondary data analysis (e.g. of longitudinal, survey or administrative data sources), experimental or quasi-experimental approaches, or broad evaluation methodologies. The successful candidate will contribute to our undergraduate degree and to our graduate programmes at Masters and Doctoral levels, and possibly also PGCE and practitioner professional development routes.
The position offers an exciting opportunity for a research-active educator to join a vibrant multi-disciplinary Faculty engaged in research and teaching on education. The person appointed will contribute to the international profile of the Faculty through high quality research publications, grant capture, impactful dissemination, and public engagement.
